This past weekend SA Tourism hosted a Botswana Consumer Activation event in Stanbic Bank Piazza which was all about showcasing what South Africa is about, how to holiday there on a budget and upcoming festivals to be held this coming festive season. After another week of assessments, when their invite dropped in the mail i definitely could not decline(Thank goodness).

So the event was set to start at 11am till 6pm for the entire weekend however me being me i arrived at 1pm on Saturday. It appeared like i did not miss anything though as i found stalls not as packed as i thought it will be.

For the two days my friends and i spent there,we got to meet few of travel agencies which offer festival packages to events like Afropunk,DSTV iROCK Fest which are set for this festive season.

We also got to do some wine tasting, paired with some crackers,of which i think i should add to my bucket list items(HEHE).Just Ginger Beverage was there as well to quench attendees’ thirst, while on the other hand the famous Eyadini Lounge from Umlazi gave us a feel of their chisanyama.

To make the event more exciting for attendees, #etelaSouthAfrica team made a competition where you get to answer questions about South Africa to stand a chance to win some prizes.Me being a frequent SA traveller and enthusiast,i jumped to the opportunity and walked away with a power bank & selfie stick package.A perfect package for a Lifestyle/Travel Blogger indeed. As if that was not enough,we got to print out our pictured moments from the Hashtag Printing Station.

Of the two days, what stood out personally was the bottomless food and drinks experience i got from SA Tourism team in partnership with Culture Art Cafe.I got to eat wings, cheese croquettes, seswaa balls, paired with sweet chilli jam and tomato sauce.Drinks, there was quite a variety to choose from although i was frequently a late comer to the Cafe. The service we got from the Culture Art Cafe was on point and was even suprised that one of the chefs could recognise me,which was tops.

Otherwise am glad i finally got to meet my South African Tourism fam and hopefully next time they’re here, the event will be hyped up in advance with the venue packed.

Till next time(teardrop)
