A week of pulling out all the stops is upon us yet again. African Fashion International officially opened another edition of AFI Joburg Fashion Week yesterday.
Day 1 of this year’s edition was opened with performances from Kwesta, Femi Kuti and the Ndlovu Youth choir.
On the runway was a Pan African fashion showcase with designers; Christie Brown (Ghana), Maxhosa (SA), Gavin Rajah (SA), Eric Raisina (Madagascar), Mai Atafo (Nigeria), Kahindo Mateena (DRC/USA), Laurence Airline (Ivory Coast), KLûK CGDT (SA), Moshions (Rwanda) and Neo Serati (SA).
Thee, David Tlale wrapped up day 1 of AFI Fashion Week, with a beautiful, heartfelt tribute to his mother with a SS20 collection dubbed “JOYCE”.
AFI Fashion week is ongoing in Sandton Convention Centre until the 12th of October 2019.
